Let the horse teach - proprioception.

What to Expect

step away from the noise of your day to day life, into the peace of stunning, magical hogsback, EC, south Africa. join us for a week of looking at horses, taking time to actually see. watch them experiment with movement, take time to progess and integrate the learning.

❋ Intentional Structure

We will be working through the theory of proprioception, spatial awareness and dwell time. Using the same herd of horses and watching them integrate the learning day by day.

❋ Collaborative Energy

Connection is a core part of the process. You’ll learn just as much from the group as from the content itself. Working in pairs with a variety of horses, we’ll see how different people and different horses work through puzzles.

❋ Expert Facilitation

Led by experienced guides who know how to hold space, encourage participation, and keep things moving with purpose.

❋ A Supportive Space

Our events prioritize comfort, safety, and respect—so you can show up as you are and fully engage in the process.

There is a 90 day online lead in to this week…

We’ll meet live online for an hour, 90 days ahead of our week… This is to help to give you clarity about what we’re doing and where we’ll be taking you through this workshop.

There are videos to watch and practices to work through along the way. No pressure - if you have a full on life and job and can’t work your way through the videos, you will still get a huge amount from the week, but there’ll be more processing time for you if you’re familiar with some of the theory…

Weekly check in pre-recorded videos from me and Jodi to help you stay on track…

A second live meeting 30 days before we head out…

Will you meet the wild ones?!

I, Ashleigh, will be guiding you through the 90 day lead up and coaching most of the ground work and proprioception for this week, along with Jodi, (see below). You can find out more about me here, on this website!

Meet Jodi…

I am an equine body worker living in South Africa who tries to balance body work appointments with a full time non-horsey job, along with riding and competing my own horses, although sometimes there’s no balance, only chaos! I enjoy both the treatment of horses for their general wellbeing, as well helping with their rehabilitation from injuries and I have a particular interest in how we can help our horses feel and move better in all aspects of their daily routines and lives. I focus my treatments mainly on the horse’s fascia and continue to be amazed by how much of an impact this gentle bodywork modality often seems to have.

Reconnect with your body and mind as you escape the noise of everyday life.
Day One

Working with the horses

Each day will begin with breakfast at The Edge before driving through the forestry to get to the farm where the horses will be waiting to join us. There are herds of wild horses, always a treat. In our interaction with the horses, we will be working through proprioception, stretches, simple movements that owners can take back to their horses. Depending on how the horses progress we may work through lunge and long rein.
